Skin is every bit Fact as much as it is Fiction.
It's unbridled Lust, Completely Exposed!

Jen wrote the lyrics to Skin, and we created a track that perfectly complimented the story and everything we wanted to convey around it. I wanted this to be our most sexually suggestive song ever, and the first time Matt heard me sing the lyrics "Live" in the studio so we could work on the dynamics as a team, he called it the "Sex Song" as we had not yet officially named the track.

We had a good laugh over it, and I told him not to laugh for too long as he was going to be singing it with me! He immediately said "No Way" and laughed.

After we recorded a Demo for Matt to have, and work with at home; I didn't hear anything from him on it for a while. And I began to fear he wasn't going to sing on it after all. Then one night he came in as we were recording the album, and he said
"I've got something. Let's Do It!!" And so we did.
And I can't imagine this track without his backing vocals.

I think we both let the song take us to a place in the studio, we had never been before emotionally; with a track like this and it's content. It's an Incredible track in my opinion. It's hands down my Favorite Song on our 5th album behind the Title Track and "How It Ends"!
