about

Keyboardist / Vocalist Matt Willis wrote the lyrics to How It Ends. It went through no revisions, nor did I add anything to it; as it was perfect the way he sent it to me. From the moment I first read it, I began hearing the music in my head. And I knew this was going to be a Beautifully Dark song. I’ve always loved Matt’s lyrics, and think they are some of the best stuff that has ever been written for Provision.

We wanted to go back to our roots for our 5th album “A New Revolution”. And what we created was almost like a Prequel to our debut album Evaporate. I drew influence from Cetu Javu’s “Southern Lands” and Depeche Mode’s “Black Celebration” and revisited what made the sound of our debut album so special. And this was what I created to Matt’s lyrics.

lyrics

How It Ends 118 bpm

And now it's time to say goodbye.
We'll share another kiss.
Although I've cried a thousand times.
I've never cried like this.

And now were talking in sequence.
As I call to you, across the distance.
Before you fade away.

And so it all begins.
Every hour we spend.
Every time we dream like this.
This is how it ends.

As we slowly drift away.
I can feel what your eyes convey.
Your uncertain smile, telling me to stay.

A familiar scenario.
Coming through in stereo.
Like a light, through every window.
